What is the image of natural stone in the eyes of architects, what do they like or dislike in this material? Anyone who works in the stone market, is engaged in its sale or processing, can answer these questions, based on their personal experience.
The German Association of natural stone DNV (Deutscher Naturwerksteinverband) ordered to conduct a market analysis, aimed specifically at architects of Germany. DNV found out why architects use, or, conversely, refrain from using natural stone in construction.
As a result, the following conclusions were made. Architects like to use marble, granite and other stones because of their durability, environmental friendliness, decorative and natural beauty. But, at the same time, some stops rather high price of a stone, some difficulties with its cleaning and processing.
Rainer Krug, CEO of DNV summed up the study: "Architects are not aware of the diversity of types of natural stones, so the problems in this area may become more".
